I have wanted to be a therapist all my life. I remember the happiest moments of my childhood being times where I was able to serve someone else. Through serving, I gained a deep respect for cultures and their beautiful differences.
However, my passion for maternal mental health was born out of some of my most devastating moments. My first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, my mother passed during my second pregnancy, and third pregnancy happened less than a month of relocating my family to Florida. I have experienced the wide range of joy to grief while on my journey of motherhood. I have heard so many stories like mine and different, of mothers struggling and just trying to make it. Through therapy, I hope to help mothers and their families to face the challenges of motherhood and flourish.
Educational Background and Professional Training
I had the pleasure of studying Family, Youth, and Community Sciences with a specialization in organizational leadership at the University of Florida; Go Gators! In 2011, I completed my Masters of Science at Nova Southeastern University in Marriage and Family Therapy. A majority of my clinical experience took place in St. Louis, MO. I had the privilege to serve alongside and learn from a wide range of Mental Health professionals and Christian spiritual advisors. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in both the state of Missouri and Florida. I am also affiliated with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me. I hope our paths are able to cross and that we may walk on your journey to health and healing together.
